As part of maintaining the Seattle NA website and domain name, the Public Information subcommittee provides email addresses for all Seattle Area service committees that want one. This page is intended for Seattle Area members, and provides details about what's available and how to get a service committee email address set up. (See the Service Committees page for examples of addresses that have been set up.) The addresses can be either for the committee chair, or for the committee as a whole.
There are two different ways of receiving email.
To get an address set up or make a change, send a message with the necessary information to web-maintainer. If you want a separate mailbox, you'll need a password - for security reasons we prefer not to send passwords in email messages, so include your phone number.
The following directions apply only if you have a mailbox on the Seattle NA site -- if you're using forwarding just read the mail as you usually do whereever it's forwarded to.
Point your web browser at http://mail.seattlena.org. Fill in the form with your Seattle NA email address and password. (Note that the email address is the full address, for example info@seattlena.org, not just the info part.)
Mail to an alias can be forwarded to several different places. (The system will duplicate the message and forward a copy to each separate address.) You might want this if there are several service committee members monitoring an email address. For example, we use this with the Schedules address - copies of mail to this address go to both the chair of the Schedules Committee, and also the web maintainer, since we need to make changes both to the printed schedule and the web schedule.
If your committee has a real mailbox on the seattlena.org host site (not an alias), you can set it up so that it sends a copy of any message to another address as well. This is useful if you want a notification that mail has arrived in the mailbox and you should check it.
